Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala says he welcomes their challenge against Stellenbosch after being drawn to face each other in the Last 32 of the Nedbank Cup.

The Glamour Boys has been drawn against National First Division side Stellenbosch in the Last 32 of the Nedbank Cup.

The 32-year-old says he is relishing the chance to face the NFD side in the Nedbank Cup in the hopes of advancing to the next round of the competition.

‘We welcome the draw,’ Tshabalala told the Kaizer Chiefs website.

‘No team is big or small in football. Stellenbosch are a good team and we are looking forward to play them.’

Tshabalala says he is well aware of the threat Stellenbosch possesses but he insists that his side will be working on the clock to overcome the NFD side.

‘We are aware of Stellenbosch’s position in the first division,’ He added.

‘For us to progress to the Last 16, we have to be well prepared to beat them.’

Kaizer Chiefs will next welcome Free State Stars to the FNB Stadium when the two side’s meet in the Absa Premiership on Tuesday.

Kick-off has been set for 19:30.
