Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro admits the game against Chippa United was “rough” and “very physical” but he felt his side were deserved winners.

The Buccaneers secured a 3-1 victory over the Chilli Boys in the Nedbank Cup semi-final at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha.

The Buccaneers have now advanced to the final of the competition, where they will take on Mamelodi Sundowns at the Mbombela Stadium on June 1.

Riveiro admits his side battled hard for the win but was happy with his side’s overall performance.

“Ja, it was a rough game, very physical with the opponent playing a lot of long balls, they forced us in the end to play with three centre-backs, to control a little bit better in the last 20 minutes,” Riveiro told SuperSport TV after the game.

“I think we did it well, three goals. I think we were the better team, it’s a well deserved final for these guys, a fourth in a row, so everybody in the club very happy,”
