Cape Town City winger Gift Links insists SuperSport United will find it hard to play their game at Cape Town Stadium in the Nedbank Cup on Saturday, writes DYLAN APPOLIS.

The Citizens are currently unbeaten in their last five five games, and most recently claimed a comfortable 5-0 win over Free State Stars in the Absa Premiership.

This was a game in which Links bagged a brace to help his side secure maximum points and move them up to fourth on the league standings with 27 points from 17 games played so far this season.

However, City will now turn their attention to the Nedbank Cup when they take on SuperSport, and Links believes his side can overcome their rivals to book their place in the next round of the competition, having recently claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over them away from home.

‘I’m more than ready, because we have played them three times already, so we know what to expect come Saturday,’ Links said.

‘We know its going to be a tough game, because we’ve beaten them three times,’ he added. ‘They are going to want revenge, but we are playing at home [Cape Town Stadium], so it won’t be easy for them, or even for us.

‘We’ll try our best to go through. I think we can keep on working hard and keep the momentum going.’

The Bafana Bafana international added that the Citizens possess the quality to go all the way in this competition, having won the MTN8 trophy last year.

‘It’s possible for us to go all the way and win the trophy, but for now we taking it one game at a time,’ Links concluded.

Cape Town City will welcome SuperSport United to Cape Town Stadium when the two sides meet in the Nedbank Cup on Saturday, with kick-off set for 8:15pm.
