Kaizer Chiefs defender Daniel Cardoso says his side will not underestimate Acornbush United when the two sides meet in the Nedbank Cup last-16 tie on Sunday.

The Soweto giants, who currently occupy third place in the Absa Premiership, enter the encounter high in confidence after defeating Sundowns 2-1 on the weekend, and extending their unbeaten streak to 10 matches.

Amakhosi booked their place in the Last 16, following their comfortable 3-0 victory over Stellenbosch through goals by Joseph Molangoane, Siphiwe Tshabalala and Gustavo Paez at Athlone Stadium on March 11.

Meanwhile, Acornbush progressed to the next round after they beat Cape Town City at the Kabokweni Stadium courtesy of Mduduzi Nkosi’s 43rd-minute goal.

The 28-year-old says he is well aware of the threat Acornbush poses and he insists that Amakhosi will not underestimate the giant killers in their Last 16 clash.

‘We are going to approach the game like any other game. We are not gonna underestimate them,’ Cardoso told KickOff.com.

‘Even though they are Vodacom League, we are gonna take the game as if it’s an Ajax or a Mamelodi Sundowns team. We are not going to underestimate them because they did beat Cape Town City, and Cape Town City are flying this season.”

The Glamour Boys are set to take on the ABC Motsepe League side Acornbush United in the Nedbank Cup Last 16 at Kabokweni Stadium on Sunday.
