Kaizer Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas believes Amakhosi are yet to reach their best form after they were eliminated from the MTN8 over the weekend.

The Glamour Boys missed out on the chance to reach the final after suffering a 1-0 defeat against SuperSport United, who advanced to the final on a 3-2 aggregate score.

Solinas admits he was disappointed to not have reached the finals, but is adamant they will use the international break to improve their game.

‘I am disappointed because the whole Kaizer Chiefs family wanted this final, but we have to move on. We haven’t seen the best of Kaizer Chiefs yet, the best is still coming,’ Solinas told his club’s official website.

‘We didn’t play well in the first half, but we did much better in the second half, creating chances.

‘It was disappointing to see SuperSport United score the goal.’

He added: ‘We lost an opportunity to win a trophy and I understand that our supporters are not happy with the result. The same is true for me.

‘I’m here now for only one and a half months. I don’t have a magic wand.

‘There is, however, a lot of room for improvement and the Fifa international break will give us some time to work at training on certain aspects of our game.

‘I believe in this team and I fully believe that, with time, we will get it right. I am optimistic about the future. The best of Kaizer Chiefs is coming.’
