Cape Town City midfielder Roland Putsche is confident that the Citizens will overcome their goal-scoring troubles when they come up against Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 semi-final first leg on Saturday, writes DYLAN APPOLIS.

The Citizens have four goals from four matches so far this season after scoring 26 goals from 30 league games last term when they finished fifth in the league last season while bagging eight goals in cup competitions.

Putsche believes the goals ‘will come’ following their intensive training leading up to their top eight clash against the big-spending Sundowns.

‘Sometimes you have to earn your goals and I can see the boys putting in the work on a daily basis and sooner or later it will get rewarded.

‘The possession game we play is not bad but we know that football is about scoring goals and we’ve lacked in that way a bit. So we’ve shifted our focus towards it and every single game is different‚ so you can’t compare Sundowns with Golden Arrows.’

The Austrian-born midfielder admits his side’s tactics will be different this time around compared to how they played against Golden Arrows in their frustrating goalless.

‘Against Arrows, we probably played tactically slightly different. But Arrows is gone and Sundowns is our next step‚’ Putsche said.

Cape Town City against Mamelodi Sundowns kicks off at 3pm on Saturday.
