Inter Miami head coach Javier Mascherano says they are going to show their quality and prove their worth against Paris Saint-Germain, “the best team in Europe”.
The American outfit secured their place in the Club World Cup last 16 after they finished in second place in Group A with five points from three matches.
The Herons will now take on European champions PSG when the two sides square off at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia on Sunday evening.
Mascherano admits his side are in for a difficult battle but believes his side have the quality to overcome the French side and advance to the next round of the competition.
“We know that we are going to face maybe the best team in Europe. It will be difficult but we will try to do our best,” Mascherano said.
“We are going to try to show our quality and to try to prove our worth.
“It is historic for MLS to have a team through to the last 16. We are one of the best 16 teams in the world so we will look to continue.”
Paris Saint-Germain against Inter Miami is scheduled to kick-off at 6pm on Sunday.
