New Chelsea signing Joao Pedro has opened up about his desire to win silverware with the Blues.

The Brazilian arrives at the Blues in a deal worth up to £60m after putting pen to paper on an eight-year contract.

Pedro has already linked up with his new teammates in the USA as they prepare to take on Palmeiras in the Club World Cup quarter-finals on Saturday.

The 23-year-old is excited to be representing Chelsea and is looking forward to winning trophies with the club.

“Everyone knows this is a big club with a great history. They had brilliant players in the past and have brilliant players now,” Pedro said.

“So I am excited to join and you know when you are a Chelsea player you must think one thing — win.

“I grew up watching the Premier League, and Chelsea were a club that won trophies. So, when you join Chelsea, you can only think one thing: to win trophies.

‘Every competition, you have to think, “I play for Chelsea and that is my ambition”.
