Manchester City were forced to play out to a goalless draw with Huddersfield Town, while Millwall beat Leicester City 1-0 in the FA Cup on Saturday.

City dominated possession on the ball in the opening exchanges of the match and spent most of it in the Huddersfield’s half of the field, but found it hard to carve out any clear-cut chances in the final third.

However, City came close to opening the scoring in the 29th minute when Sergio Aguero played Fabian Delph through on goal, but the midfielder saw his volley guided wide of the upright from close range.

Neither side could find the opening goal in the first 45 minutes as the match went into the half-time interval goalless.

The second half started slowly, but Huddersfield came close to breaking the deadlock in the 54th minute when Joe Lolley saw his header effort guided narrowly wide of the target.

Pep Guardiola’s side pressed forward in search of the winner in the closing stages, but the Championship side managed to hold on until the final whistle to force a replay.

Meanwhile, Middlesbrough claimed a hard fought 3-2 victory over Oxford United at the Riverside Stadium through goals by Grant Leadbitter, Rudy Gestede and Christian Stuani.

Christopher Maguire and Toni Martínez got on the score sheet for Oxford, scoring two goals within a minute.

Leicester City were beaten 1-0 at the hands of Millwall at the Den through a stoppage time goal by Shaun Cummings.
