Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini says his side can expect another tough clash against Anderlecht in the second leg of their Europa League quarter-finals on Thursday.

Marouane Fellaini believes Manchester United’s crucial Europa League quarter-final clash against Anderlecht on Thursday will be a different occasion to the first leg.

The Reds were held to a 1-1 draw in the first leg of the quarter-finals when Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s first-half goal was cancelled out by a late header from Leander Dendoncker.

The 29-year-old says he expects a tough game, but insists his side have a better chance of progressing to the next round playing at Old Trafford with an away goal advantage.

‘It will be a tough game again. Every game is tough. When we play against a foreign team or even an English team, they all want to beat Manchester United, so they will give everything to try to do that,’ Fellaini told the Manchester United website.

‘But we have a big chance when we play at Old Trafford. We know how to play there and we will give everything to try to reach the semi-finals. I think Thursday will be a big game and we will do everything to win.

The Belgian international has warned Anderlecht that it will be a different ball-game at Old Trafford ahead of their second-leg clash.

‘This game will be different. The stadium is three times bigger than the stadium of Anderlecht, so it will be a completely different atmosphere. Everyone in the club – the players, the manager, the staff – want to go all the way, so we work for that.’

Fellaini has been a regular start for United this season under Jose Mourinho and has made a total of 40 appearances in all competitions while scoring three goals in the process.

Manchester United will now turn their attention to their second leg of the Europa League quarter-finals when they take on Anderlecht on Thursday.

The match at Old Trafford kicks off at 21:05.
