Manchester United claimed a late 1-1 draw with Stoke City, while Everton secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Potters got off to a good start and opened the scoring in the 18th minute when Juan Mata deflected Erik Peters’ cross into the back of his own net to make it 1-0.

Mata should have levelled matters in the 30 the minute but he guided his effort at goal over the crossbar from six-yards out.

However, the Red Devils started to dominate possession of the ball as the half went on but failed to find an equaliser.

The visiting side came close to levelling matters in the 75th minute but Marcus Rashford blazed his effort wide of the upright from close range.

The Red Devils then went close to scoring again in the 87th minute when Zlatan Ibrahimovic played Jesse Lingard through on goal before rattling the woodwork.

However, Jose Mourinho’s side eventually found an equalising goal during stoppage time when Wayne Rooney curled his free-kick into the back of the net as both sides were forced to settle for a point each.

Meanwhile, Everton clinched a narrow 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park courtesy of a goal by Seamus Coleman, who scored an 87th-minute goal.

While West Bromwich Albion beat Sunderland 2-0 at the Hawthorns through goals by Darren Fletcher and Chris Brunt to walk away with all three points.

Bournemouth and Watford played out to a goalless draw at the Goldsands Stadium, while West Ham United claimed a 3-1 victory over Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.
