Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that he expects to be without five first-team players for their clash against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

The Red Devils will be without the suspended Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ander Herrera for United’s clash at Old Trafford, as the pair will sit out the final match of their suspensions.

The Portuguese manager confirmed that Chris Smalling and Phil Jones sustained injuries while away on international duty with England, while Paul Pogba has been sidelined with a strain on his hamstring since their victory over Rostov on March 16.

‘So we lose four [players] and I think Paul Pogba is also out. So we lose five,’ Mourinho told the Manchester United website.

Mourinho is awaiting the return from South America of Sergio Romero, Antonio Valencia and Marcos Rojo, before being in a position to finalise his plans for the weekend.

The Red Devils currently sit fifth in the Premier League standings with 52 points and have won 14 out of 27 matches played so far this season, trailing fourth-place Liverpool by four points and leaders Chelsea by 17 points.

When the Premier League resumes, Manchester United are set to take on West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

The match at Old Trafford kicks off at 16:00.
