Chelsea winger Victor Moses believes his side showed real character to overcome Middlesbrough 1-0 at the Riverside Stadium on Sunday.

Diego Costa might have scored the only goal of the match, but Moses walked away with the man-of-the-match award for his impressive performance against Boro.

The 25-year-old was pleased with the three points and praised the Blues back line after claiming their sixth consecutive clean sheet in the Premier League.

‘We showed good character right from the start,’ Moses told the Chelsea website.

‘We had a few chances in the first half which we should have taken. In the second half they came at us, and we were very strong at the back. We are pleased with the three points.’

Chelsea will next take on Tottenham Hotspur in a Premier League London derby on Saturday.

The match at Stamford Bridge kicks off at 19:30.
