A goal by Harry Kane helped Tottenham Hotspur claim a narrow 1-0 victory over Middlesbrough at White Hart Lane in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

The LillyWhites dominated the match in the opening exchanges of the match but failed to carve out any real opportunities in the final third, in the first 45 minutes of the match.

However, Mauricio Pochettino’s side had to wait until the 58th minute to the scoring when the home side were awarded a penalty after Bernardo brought down Son Heung-min in the area.

Kane stepped up to take the penalty and made no mistake from the spot-kick to give his side the lead, sending Victor Valdes the wrong way to make it 1-0.

Christian Eriksen came close to doubling his side’s lead within a minute when his shot saved well by Valdes.

Meanwhile, Marten de Roon had a golden opportunity to level matters in stoppage time but could not find the target, hitting his effort wide of goal as Spurs walked away with all three points.
