Jorginho has set his sights on winning silverware at Arsenal after signing a new contract with the club.

The 32-year-old Italian midfielder, who signed an 18-month contract in January 2023 to join the team from London rivals Chelsea, has grown to be an essential part of Mikel Arteta’s Premier League championship-chasing team.

This season, Jorginho has made 35 appearances in all competitions. He scored his lone goal in a Champions League victory over Lens.

With two games remaining, Arsenal leads the Premier League by one point over champion Manchester City, who also have a game in hand.

Having already won the European Championship, the Europa League, and the Champions League, Jorginho is hoping to increase his winnings.

After reaching a new agreement, when asked what he hoped to come of it, he replied, “I want to win as much as I can and enjoy the moment because that’s really important to me.”

“Because if you are somewhere where you are not enjoying it, or you are not happy, then it’s difficult. So moving forward is trying to be here, happy and achieving as much as we can.”

Arteta expressed his happiness at Jorginho’s new contract signing.

“Jorgi is such an important part of our team, a role model with great leadership skills and a unique playing style ability which makes everybody better around him on the pitch,” he said.

On Sunday, Arsenal hosts Manchester United at Old Trafford. On May 19, the team travels to home to play Everton.
