Belgian international Eden Hazard looks set to sign a £300,000-a-week contract to stay at Premier League leaders Chelsea.

Hazard has been in scintillating form this season, helping the Blues cement their place at the top of the Premier League table with a 10 point lead over second-placed Tottenham Hotspur side.

He has also managed to score a total of 11 goals and assisted a further five from 31 appearances in all competitions so far this season.

Blues manager Antonio Conte is said to have been crucial in the negotiations, and has played a major role in convincing Hazard to stay at the West London club.

The Blues manager Antonio Conte has convinced the 26-year-old to stay at the club, and successfully fended off interest from La Liga side Real Madrid.

Chelsea were set to hold contract talks with Hazard earlier this week, despite the playmaker signing a new £200,000-a-week deal two years ago.

Hazard‘s current contract with the squad expires in 2020, but the Blues are willing to extend his deal by a further two years, as well as adding a £100 00-a-week pay rise.

The Italian manager has asked Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich to ensure that Hazard remains at the club in the summer, according to reports.

Meanwhile, the Spanish giants Real were keen to sign Hazard to bolster their squad for the 2017-18 La Liga campaign, with a world-record £100-million move to the Galactico.

During his five-year stay at the club, Hazard has racked up 237 appearances in all competitions, netted 66 goals and assisted a further 61 so far.

Chelsea will be hoping to end Crystal Palace’s winning run of two matches when the two sides meet in the Premier League on Saturday.

The match at Stamford Bridge kicks off at 16:00.
