Heavyweights Arsenal and Chelsea go head-to-head in the Premier League on Saturday as each side looks to keep pace with early leaders Manchester City.

The pair finds themselves level on the log with 10 points from five matches played and will be eager to lay down an early marker by beating a potential title rival.

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka is expected to find himself back in the Gunners’ starting lineup after scoring twice in his last two matches, while striker Olivier Giroud remains a doubt. The impressive Alex Iwobi, meanwhile, could well keep the likes of Theo Walcott or new signing Lucas Perez out of the side.

Centre back John Terry remains a doubt for Chelsea meaning manager Antonio Conte may have to opt for the newly returned but shaky David Luiz at the heart of the Blues defence. On the other hand, Chelsea will be boosted by the fact that Arsenal have failed to score against them in their last six meetings.

The match is also likely to see former Gunner’s favourite Cesc Fabregas square up against his old club. The midfielder, who left Arsenal for Barcelona before joining the Stamford Bridge outfit, will be fired up for the game having hit a double in midweek to ensure the Blues progressed in the EFL Cup.

Elsewhere, City face a trip to the Liberty Stadium where they take on Swansea City for the second time in a less than a week.
