Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois says he remains impressed by Diego Costa’s goalscoring ability after he netted the winner against West Brom Albion on Sunday.

The 28-year-old, who is the Premier Leagues top scorer, looks to be in fine form, having already netted 12 goals from 15 appearances in the EPL so far this season.

The Belgium shot-stopper has heaped praise on the Spanish striker scoring ability while also revealing that the Blues are benefiting from his current form.

says he thinks it is hard to say if the striker is in the best form of his career he is just pleased to be watching him in full flow.

‘I remember the year we were champions with Atletico he was very strong, and the year we were champions with Chelsea he was very strong as well,’ Courtois told the Chelsea website.

‘This season up to now he has scored very important goals. He’s really strong on the ball as well and he dribbles past defenders like it’s nothing, so he’s very strong at the moment and we can only enjoy that and use him as our strength.

‘It was a rough time for all the team last year but from January or February Diego was already scoring a lot of goals, and he has just carried that form on.’

Chelsea will now travel to the Stadium of Light when they face Sunderland in the Premier League on Wednesday.

Kick-off has been set for 21:45.
