Leicester City defender Christian Fuchs says his side can be proud of their increasing number of clean sheets in all competitions this season.

The Foxes have already kept five clean sheets from 10 matches in all competitions this season , with those coming against Arsenal, Club Brugge, Burnley, Porto, and Southampton.

The 30-year-old says his side’s clash against the Saints was proof of their willingness to work as a team in order to keep a clean sheet.

‘It was a tough game for us,’ Fuchs told the Leicester City website.

‘Southampton are good and in possession they keep the ball moving well.

‘But we kept defending. It’s our fifth clean sheet in 10 games so I’m proud of that.

‘We had a chance to get on the scoresheet and we didn’t, but it was a great team effort and we’ll take this one point.’

Fuchs admits that the clubs supports made a huge impact on the teams performance at the King Power Stadium.

‘For the opposing team, every team that comes here knows that they’re not only playing against the team on the pitch. They’re playing against this amazing 12th man,’ he added.

‘They have a feeling and know when we need them. They give us an extra push and this was the case today.’

When the Premier League returns on October 15, Leicester City will once again go head-to-head with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Kick-off has been scheduled for 13:30.
