Barcelona stretched their lead at the top of the La Liga standings after securing a dramatic 4-3 victory over rivals Real Madrid in an entertaining El Clasico clash at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.

Los Blancos wasted no time in opening the scoring when Kylian Mbappé converted from the penalty spot before he doubled their lead in the 14th minute.

Eric García managed to pull a goal back for Barca five minutes later before Lamine Yamal drew the game level in the 32nd minute.

The home side eventually took the lead for the first time in the match when Raphinha completed his double after scoring in the 34th and 45th minute.

Real tried hard to fight back when Frenchman Mbappé completed his hat-trick in the 70th minute, but it was not enough to help Madrid complete the comeback as Barca held on for a 4-3 win.

The win sees Barcelona remain at the top of the La Liga standings with 82 points, with Real Madrid in second place trailing them by seven points on 75 after 35 matches.
