Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane praised his players following their triumph over Raja Casablanca to win the Caf Super Cup trophy at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The Red Eagles secure back to back Caf Super Cup titles after they defeated Raja 6-5 on penalties after the game ended 1-1 after 120 minutes of play when Taher Mohamed cancelled out Hamid Ahaddad’s opener.

The win saw Mosimane’s side secure their second Caf Super Cup title in a row and their 24th continental piece of silverware.

Pitso Mosimane, Al Ahly’s football first-team head coach, spoke after our team was crowned champions of the CAF Super Cup title.

“I would like to thank the club’s president El Khatib (Bibo), the board, and everyone,” Mosimane told his club’s official website.

“I feel good. We have to congratulate and thank the players. We practiced penalties during the training sessions before the match.

“We played against a tough opponent who tried to waste time in the end but we had the spirit to win.”
