#Rewind back to Mamelodi Sundowns’ run to the Caf Champions League title back in 2016, featuring Khama Billiat, Keagan Dolly, Leonardo Castro, Teko Modise and company.

The Brazilians finished top of Group B ahead of Zamalek to seal their spot in the knockout stages of the 2016 edition of the competition.

They were then pitted against Zambian side Zesco United in the semi-finals, where they walked away 3-2 winners over the two legs, after losing 2-1 in Zambia before coming from behind to win 2-0 at home and seal their progression.

Downs then faced Egyptian giants Zamalek in the final which was also played over two legs. The Brazilians got off to the perfect start as they cruised to a 3-0 win in the first leg at home and despite losing 1-0 in Egypt they managed to hold on to secure their first-ever Caf Champions League title.

With the victory Sundowns became only the second South African side ever to lift the continent’s premium cup.
