Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane was pleased to see his side minimise the threat of Wydad Casablanca striker Ayoub El Kabai.

The Brazilians were forced to share the spoils with Wydad after playing out to a goalless draw in their second Caf Champions League Group C clash in Morocco this past weekend.

The draw keeps Sundowns at the top of group C with four points after beating Petro de Luanda in the opening round.

‘I am happy we dealt with their No 9 because he is a very good footballer. He is powerful and we gave him no chance to face the goals. He was only playing facing his own goals,’ Mosimane explained to the media.

‘We also know that their right winger likes to go on the line a lot to cross, so we denied him the space to cross. The same goes for [Ismail] El Haddad, he wants to go down the line and bring in the balls. So if you deal with the wingers, the No 9 doesn’t get much.

‘But [Aymane] El Hassouni was a problem because he was cutting in during the first half – so I was happy he came off. But everything came out as we expected it. The only time we thought we would have problems was for corner kicks and free kicks. But we were good.’
