Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung revealed that the club’s ambition is to return to the Caf Champions League.

The Glamour Boys were recently eliminated from the Caf Confederation Cup after falling to a 5-2 aggregate defeat to Zesco United in the play-offs.

However, Amakhosi recently managed to progress to the next round of the Nedbank Cup following their narrow 1-0 victory over Tornado at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium, and they will now take on The Magic FC in the last 16.

Motaung will be hoping the Glamour Boys can turn their poor form in the continental competitions around in the hope of claiming success in the African competition.

‘The Champions League has always been our ambition and it will always be‚’ Motaung told the media.

‘This season we have been knocked out of the Confederation Cup, but sometimes it works in your favour.

‘Definitely‚ going to the Champions League remains one of our ambitions and that is why, when we beef up the squad now and at the end of the season, we will do so looking at those challenges that lie ahead of us.’

Kaizer Chiefs will next take on Soweto rivals Orlando Pirates when the two sides square off for a promisingly entertaining Absa Premiership encounter at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, with kick-off set for 3:30pm.
