Mamelodi Sundowns forward Jeremy Brockie has revealed his desire to win Africa’s premium competition, the Caf Champions League.

The Brazilians face defending champions Wydad Casablanca in Morocco in a crucial group game on Friday night.

Sundowns currently lie second in Group C with five points, but only lead third-place Horoya on goal difference. The 2016 Caf Champions League winners will thus be looking to pick up some valuable points away from home against table toppers Wydad, who are currently on eight points.

A loss for Downs and victory for Horoya over AS Togo-Port could see the Brazilians face an uphill task in their attempt to progress to the knockout stages.

Brockie, who lost the final of the Caf Confederations Cup with former club SuperSport United, however, has revealed that he has already begun to dream of lifting the famous trophy after already winning the Absa Premiership with the Brazilians.

‘It would mean a lot. It’s a trophy that every player playing in the competition wants to win and that’s one of the reasons I joined this club. They’ve got history of winning in the league and in the Champions League and they want to do that again,’ the New Zealander said.

‘It’s something we speak about. The remaining games are in our hand, so we need to go out there and put up attacking performances and make sure we win the games. Personally, it’s a competition I’d love to be able to, when I finish playing, say I won the Champions League.’

Brockie finally looks to be cementing his spot in Pitso Mosimane’s team and will be looking to further secure his spot by scoring in his side’s Friday night clash with Wydad.

Downs take on the defending Champions on Friday night in Morocco, with the game set to start at 8pm.
