Ghana claimed a 2-1 victory over Congo DR while Egypt clinched a narrow 1-0 win over Morocco as they booked their place in the next round of the African Cup of Nations.

The Black Stars opened the scoring in the 63rd minute when saw his curling effort guided into top corner to make it 1-0.

Congo DR levelled matters five minutes later when Paul-Jose M’Poku found the back of the net from his fine effort from long-range.

However, Ghana were awarded a penalty in the 77th minute when Christian Atsu was brought down in the box. Andre Ayew stepped up to take the penalty and made no mistake to converted the spot-kick to give his side a 2-1 lead.

The Black Stars managed to hold on to their 2-1 lead until the final whistle as they secured their place in the final four of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Egypt advanced to the next round of the Africa Cup of Nations following their 1-0 victory over Morocco at the Stade de Port Gentil.

Egypt scored the only goal of the match in the 88th minute when Kahraba’s strike found the back of the net to beat Morocco goalkeeper El Kajoui from close range to secure their place in the semi-finals of the competition.
