Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter has named his final 23-man squad for the upcoming 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) in Egypt.

Baxter has been assessing his 30-man squad the entire week after they assembled for the preliminary squad.

The Bafana coach faced a couple of challenges as Keagan Dolly pulled out of the squad through injury while Rivaldo Coetzee was excluded after going awol following a critical illness to his mother.

Foreign-based pair of Nikola Tavares and Joel Untersee were also ruled out of contention after they were unable to attain the correct paperwork and did not attend the training camp.

Baxter stuck to his initial plans as he named a squad similar to that which secured qualification against Libya withFortune Makaringe, Kermit Erasmus and Ben Motshwari all missing out.

With Erasmus having missed out, the Bafana Bafana mentor has shown faith in the attacking quartet of Percy Tau, Lebo Mothiba, Sibusiso Vilakazi and Lars Veldwijk.
