Catch up with the highlights from day two at the Afcon where Senegal and Morocco kicked off their campaigns with 1-0 wins over Zimbabwe and Ghana, respectively, while Guinea beat Malawi 1-0 and Gabon also edged the Comoros by a single goal.

Morocco 1-0 Ghana

Sofiane Boufal scored on 83 minutes to earn Morocco a 1-0 win over Ghana in Yaounde on Monday after the first clash of titans in the Africa Cup of Nations.

The 28-year-old former Southampton midfielder, now with French top-flight club Angers, turned in the goalmouth and fired a loose ball past goalkeeper Joseph Wollacott to score the winner with just seven minutes left to play.

Senegal 1-0 Zimbabwe

Liverpool star Sadio Mane converted a penalty deep in added time to snatch a fortunate 1-0 win for Senegal over Zimbabwe in the Afcon Group B opener in Bafoussam.

Disaster struck the gallant underdogs when a shot hit the right arm of Kelvin Madzongwe and Mane sent goalkeeper Petros Mhari the wrong way, with the resulting penalty on 97 minutes to settle a lacklustre affair.

Guinea 1-0 Malawi

Guinea edged Malawi 1-0 through a 35th-minute goal from Issiaga Sylla to share first place in Group B with Senegal.

Gabon 1-0 Comoros

Gabon overcame the absence of captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to beat debutants Comoros 1-0 in the section’s other game.

With Arsenal star Aubameyang sidelined after testing positive for Covid-19, Aaron Boupendza slammed in from an acute angle on the quarter-hour to snap a five-game winless run at the tournament.
