Nigerian coach Gernot Rohr believes that Bafana Bafana will qualify for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations if the can replicate their performance from the 1-1 draw with the Super Eagles on Saturday.

Nigeria sealed their qualification for the continental show piece after the draw with Stuart Baxter’s team at the FNB stadium.

South Africa, however, needed a victory over the West Africans to secure their qualification and will now have to pick up at least a point in the final group game away at Libya to secure a place at Afcon 2019.

Speaking to the media after the game, Rohr admitted that he believes Bafana have the quality to qualify but added that it won’t be easy.

‘If South Africa play the way they did against us today, they will go through. I think they will be with us in Cameroon,’ said Rohr.

Libya sit just two points behind Bafana after they managed to keep the pressure on Baxter’s men with the 8-1 thrashing of the Seychelles.

The war-torn country are unable to host home matches in their country and thus Bafana will travel to either Egypt or Tunisia for the final group game which is scheduled for March next year.

After edging the Libyans 3-2 in Tunisia earlier in the qualification campaign, Rohr admitted that the South Africans will be in for a tough game.

‘It will not be an easy game. Libya are a very difficult team to beat at home,’ he concluded.
