Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos says his players have raised their game, making it difficult for him to select his squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

South Africa stretched their unbeaten run across all competitions to 20 matches following their 2-0 victory over Mozambique.

Bafana will now shift their focus to their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho, Nigeria and Zimbabwe.

Broos’ men currently sit at the top of the Group C standings with 13 points, having won four games, drawn one, and lost one in six matches, with three games remaining.

The Belgian mentor admits he will face a selection headache for the qualifiers, especially with the way his side have been performing recently.

“Yes, I think it was the moment to do it. When you are young and have quality, there is no age.”

“For me, when I see they have quality they get a chance and there were some players that took their chance with both hands in the two games.

“So, we will see now they make my job very difficult now when I have the choose in September the qualifiers for the World Cup but ok, they are young and talented so I’m very happy that I have such kind of players.”
