It has been reported that the Jaguares will play no further part in the 2020 Vodacom Super Rugby campaign due to the global coronavirus pandemic.

The 2020 Super Rugby season was stopped after seven rounds, following the trend of tournaments across the globe due to the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

And with every passing day, the raging disease throws the rugby calendar into further turmoil, to such an extent that Sanzaar is now considering the possibility of running Super Rugby and the Rugby Championship concurrently to ensure a finish to both seasons.

But in another twist, veteran rugby journalist and editor of AmericasRugbyNews.com, Paul Tait, who is based in South America, reports that the Jaguares players have been informed that their Super Rugby campaign is indeed over. It has not yet been confirmed by the Jaguares or Sanzaar, but if that is the case, it would have far-reaching implications for the four local Super Rugby franchises because the Argentinian team is grouped in the South African conference.
