Bidvest Wits striker Elazar Rodgers says he feels privileged to be a part of the team participating in the finals of the MTN8 tournament on Saturday.

The Students will now lock horns with Mamelodi Sundowns in the finals of the Top 8 tournament at the Mbombela Stadium.

The 31-year-old the striker joined the Clever Boys at the beginning of the 2016/17 season from his former club Ajax Cape Town.

Rodgers says his teammate’s hard work and dedication has helped them reach the finals of the MTN8 and into the Bafana Bafana squad.

‘It has been a good week at training we are working well together and the Bafana call-up is something every football player dreams of. The MTN8 final and the call up all comes from hard work and I believe that our hard work has paid off,’ Rodgers told the Bidvest Wits website.

‘However, the hard work can’t stop here Saturday we are playing against Sundowns and we would obviously like to do well and win because that is what you play for.’

Rodgers says he feels privileged to be a part of the team and knowing that Hunt will want to get the best out of all of his players.

‘We are a good team and have quality players no matter who plays on the day we all produce the same quality of playing and that is good for us and seems to be working in our favour so far,’ he added.

Kick-off has been set for 17:00.
