Slovakia captain Martin Skrtel believes that Wales are more than just Gareth Bale ahead of his side’s clash against The Dragons in their opening  Euro 2016 match on Saturday.

The 31-year-old will come up against his Anfield teammate Joe Allen for the Group B encounter and the defender is proud to be leading his country in the tournament, reports the Liverpool website.

Welsh supporters will be looking at Gareth Bale to guide them to victory, but Skrtel believes Wales are not a one-man team.

‘Of course Bale is world class, but it is not only him, the Wales team is not only Bale,’ said Skrtel.

‘There are more players, a lot of individuals, so we will have to watch them all and analyse their game. I believe that we will be ready.

The Slovakians international went on to say that Wales have already shown how good they are, by qualifying for the Euro 2016 tournament.

‘Everybody knows Bale, I have my Liverpool teammate Joe [Allen], there’s [Aaron] Ramsey from Arsenal, so I think that they are all really good players,’ the defender added.

‘They play in the Premier League which is a sign that they are really good, and they have already proved that by qualifying.’

Skrtel is confident that his side will perform well in their opening match against Wales on Saturday.

‘The first match is important and it can tell you a lot, so I believe that we will do well in the first match and make a better start to the tournament than Wales,’ he said.

This season Skrtel has appeared 27 times for Liverpool, scoring one goal and helping them to a eighth place finish in the Premier League.
