Stoke City have completed the signing of teenage Egyptian star Ramadan Sobhi from Al Ahly after being granted a work permit.

The Potters have agreed a fee that could rise to €6-million for the 19-year-old, who has been capped six times by his country and is widely regarded as the most exciting prospect in African football, reports the Stoke City website.

Ramadan has now become the potters first signing ahead of the 2016-17 Premier League season.

Stoke chief executive Tony Scholes says he is delighted to have signed a player that now has the potential to showcase his talent in the Premier League.

‘We are absolutely delighted to have signed a player of Ramadan’s undoubted quality and potential,’ Scholes said.

‘He’s a special young talent who is excited about the prospect of making an impact in the Premier League and we’re looking forward to giving him that platform.’

The 19-year-old is expected to receive his UK visa over the next 48 hours, is likely to link-up with his new teammates in the United State later this week where they are preparing for the new season.

Sobhi, who is a graduate of the Al Ahly youth system and made his professional debut at the age of 16-year-old, earning his an international called up a year later.

He has helped Al Ahly to win the 2015-16 Egyptian League title under the guidance of former Tottenham and Fulham manager Martin Jol.
