Southampton were eliminated from the Europa League after playing out to a 1-1 draw with Hapoel Be’er Sheva at St Mary’s Stadium on Thursday.

The Saints needed a goalless draw or a win to progress from Group K  to the next round but Southampton fell behind in the 78th minute when Maor Buzaglo fired the ball into the back of the net from the edge of the box.

However, Saints left back Virgil van Dijk then levelled matters in the dying minutes of stoppage-time to draw the match but it wasn’t enough to book their place in the next round.
