Manchester City have announced the signing of Leroy Sane from Bundesliga club Schalke for £37-million.

The German international becomes the Blues fifth signing of summer after signing a five-year deal that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until at 2021.

The 20-year-old revealed that Guardiola was a huge influence in convincing him to join the Premier League side, stating that he has always been an admirer of the City manager.

‘I feel really good, I’m happy to be here and happy that it has all worked out. Now I can settle here in Manchester and play for City,’ Sane told Manchester City website.

‘One of the reasons I decided to join City was Pep Guardiola; he convinced me to come here and that I can continue to progress. I know I will learn a lot under him and now I can take the next step in my career.

‘I followed Pep at Barcelona and at Bayern where he achieved a lot and worked really well with young players.’

The former Bayer Leverkusen midfielder believes that his new manager will assist him with his professional growth at the club and he feels that he will be able to handle life in the Premier League.

‘I think he can make me a more complete player. I think I will need a bit of time to start with because it’s another league and there’s a different style of play but I think I can adapt very quickly,’ he added.

Last season was Sane’s breakthrough season for both in club and country, made 42 appearances for Schalke and scoring nine goals.

He was also recently called up by Joachim Low to represent Germany at the Euro 2016 tournament where he won his fourth cap in the semi-final defeat to France.

Sane will now join the likes of Ilkay Gundogan, Nolito, Aleks Zinchenko and Aaron Mooy, who all arrived at the club during the transfer window.
