England and Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has expressed his ambition to become a manager in the future.

The 30-year-old revealed his wish in a live Facebook Q and A session held with the fans of the Old Trafford club, reports Sky Sports.

Rooney was featured in the interview alongside club and national side teammate Ashley Young, who Rooney joked could accompany him.

‘I would like to be manager when I finish playing,’ Rooney admitted.

‘Football is what I’ve done my whole life. I’m currently in the process of taking my coaching badges so hopefully when I finish playing I’ll have that complete.’

The forward, who turned out in midfield for much of the last campaign for both club and country, then attempted to rope the likes of Young along with him.

‘If you get going with your badges you can come in and be one of my coaches,’ Rooney told Young.

‘I might try that. Hear that? He just offered me a job!’ Young responded.
