Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has restated his intention is to stay with Spanish giants until he retires.

Ronaldo, who was crowned Uefa’s Best Player in Europe at an award ceremony following the Champions League draw on Thursday, insisted he plans to continue with the club for another decade.

‘I’m at the best club in the world and I want to retire here, at 41,’ Ronaldo said, reports Marca.

‘I want to retire at Real Madrid because it’s the best club in the world. My objective is to extend my contract and stay at the club I love.’

The Portuguese, who beat out city rival Antoine Griezmann and teammate Gareth Bale to take the gong, is determined to continue playing at the same standard for years to come.

‘I want to keep playing at this level and I’ll work hard to achieve it, just like I do every year. I hope I can win more titles. I’m proud of the European Cup and the Euros, I cried both times.’

‘I’ve always wanted to win something with Portugal and now I’ve managed it,’ he added.

Ronaldo is expected to star again for Real this term as he nears a return from the injury he sustained in the Euro 2016 final.
