Nigerian international and new Leicester City star Ahmed Musa has expressed his excitement on linking up with the club’s premier striker Jamie Vardy.

Musa recently joined the Foxes from CSKA Moscow in a record deal for Leicester, with a £16.6-million fee having been agreed.

Now, the striker, who has frequently been compared to new teammate Vardy, cannot wait to get started.

‘A lot of people used to tell me, “Musa, you are too small to be a striker”,’ he revealed, as reported by Bangkok Post.

But I said: “It doesn’t matter what size you are, it’s what you can do that matters.” I think I am like Jamie Vardy. I have speed, I like to work hard, we are similar in lots of things,’ he added.

The striker revealed he is keen to see if he is faster than his new teammate.

‘Am I faster? I can’t say yet, I have never played with him, but I am looking forward to finding out. I’m looking forward to playing with Vardy. I like his style. I think we can fit well together.’

Musa managed 30 appearances in the Russian Premiership last term, netting 13 times.
