Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho as suggested that mega-signing Paul Pogba is ready to make his second debut with the club.

The Portuguese confirmed the player would get minutes in the Red Devils’ upcoming match against Southhampton on Friday evening, with the player having missed the opening match at Bournemouth following a suspension.

Pogba, who did not undergo pre-season training, is also a fitness concerning for the side, meaning he is unlikely to feature from the start against the visiting Saints side.

Mourinho, however, did not seem overly perturbed.

‘We played against Leicester with players with less training than him and we saw that match as a way to improve them and accelerate the process,’ the Mourinho told MUTV.

‘With Paul it’s a bit the same – he hasn’t played in one single minute of any pre-season matches but has done almost two weeks of work with us, sometimes with the group, sometimes separately, and he is okay now to play some minutes.’

The clash will take place at United’s Old Trafford stadium.

Kick-off is at 21:00.
