Th match got off to a cracking start with both teams sides trying to implement a high-tempo to their passing in the opening 10 minutes.

The first chance of the match came in the ninth minute when Raheem Sterling was played through on goal before finding Gabriel Jesus in the box but Simon Francis was alerted to the danger and comes across to make the vital interception.

However, City suffered a major blow three minutes later when Jesus went down injury after taking a knock to the ankle and had to be replaced by  Sergio Aguero in the 12th minute.

The Cherries looked threatening in attack when Jordan Ibe picked up possession and went marauding forward before exchanging a one-two pass with Jack Wilshere on the edge of the box. He just manages to burst into the area but the City goalkeeper proactively comes off his line to make the vital interception with his feet.

He just manages to burst into the area but the City goalkeeper Willy Caballero came off his line to produce a vital save to keep the scoreline goalless in the 19th minute.

Three minutes later and Bournemouth like City were forced to make a substitution of their own replacing Francis with Tyrone Mings before he picked up an injury.

However, City opened the scoring in the 29th minute when David Silva fired a low cross into the area, with Cook attempting to clear but he only manages to send the ball straight to Sterling, who converts at the back post with a simple tap in.

The home side thought they levelled matters two minutes later but King got the ball into the back of the net with a first-time finish but the forward was judged to have fouled John Stones leading up to the goal.

In the 37th minute, City had another chance to extend their lead when Aguero latched onto a cross from Bakary Sagna but the Argentine striker blazed his effort high and wide of the target.

Eddie Howe was forced to make his second substitution of the match during stoppage-time when Wilshere picked up an injury and had to be replaced by Benik Afobe.

During the first 45-minutes of the match, City took a 1-0 lead over Bournemouth as they headed into the half-time interval.

Both sides picked up where they left off in the first half but City had the first attempt at go in the second half when

Aguero showed superb strength to hold off Arter before moving forward and nutmegging the defender before getting into a shooting position and pulls the trigger but he could only manage to deflect his effort against two Bournemouth defenders.

The Cherries came close to find an equalising goal in the 67th minute when Afobe made his way into the penalty area before playing Arter through on goal but his strike was well saved by City goalkeeper to keep his side’s lead intact.

However, City eventually doubled their lead two minutes later when Sterling fired a low cross to Aguero, who’s final touch on the ball comes off the despairing Mings who turned the ball into his own net to make it 2-0.

In the 84th minute, City had a chance to extend their lead even further when Leroy Sane intercepted the ball from Ming before beating his marker and unleashing a shot at goal but the German international could only hit the woodwork with his effort.

City came close to extending their lead during stoppage-time when Alexander Kolarov picked up the ball around 25 yards out and tried his luck from distance which Boruc saved excellently but his deflected save fell to Silva, who again forces the shot-stopper into making a fine save.

However, Pep Guardiola’s side managed to hold onto their 2-0 lead until the final whistle to walk away with all three points and move into second place on the Premier League table.
