Leicester City have announced the signing of German goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler from Bundesliga side Hannover 96.

The 27-year-old shot-stopper joins for the Foxes for an undisclosed fee and has signed a four-year deal keeping him at King Power Stadium until 2020, reports the Leicester City website.

The German international revealed that his first impress of the club was very good after taking a tour of the training ground and stadium.

‘It feels great coming to Leicester and joining the Club after they’ve had such a great season – it’s really nice to be part of the Club now,’ Zieler said.

‘I’ve been shown around the training ground and it looks very good and I’ve been to the stadium – I heard about the great atmosphere and the great fans, so my first impression is very good.’

The former Manchester United goalkeeper will add experience to the Foxes squad as they begin to defend their Premier League title and their participation in their first-ever Champions League campaign.

Over the course of Zieler’s Hannover 96 career for the senior team he made a total of 221 appearances since joining the club in 2010, also racking up six appearances for the German national team.
