Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana admits that he is keen on getting his first goal for England at the Euro 2016 campaign.

With 26 caps to his name, Lallana has become an established starter for the Three Lions and is drawing plaudits for his performances during the tournament in France, reports the Liverpool website.

The 28-year-old expressed his pride at representing England at international level and was more than delighted to see his side qualify for the next round in the Euro 2016 tournament.

‘I’ve really enjoyed it. It’s great to be representing your country and I’m very proud of that,’ Lallana said.

‘But I’m mainly delighted that the team has got through to the last 16. I’m happy to help the team.’

The former Southampton attacking midfielder insisted that his chances of scoring a goal will increase if he keeps working hard.

‘Obviously I’d like to have get a goal, definitely in the first game and I had a couple of chances [against Slovakia] as well but the ‘keeper made a good save,’ he added.

‘I feel it’s coming – keep working hard and it will come. It will be nice when it happens. But as long as we’re winning and the team is doing well, that’s the only thing that really matters.’

During the 2015-16 season Lallana has netted seven goals and created eight assist from 49 games for Liverpool in all competitions this season.
