Ligue 1 champions PSG have announced the signing of Jese Rodriguez from Spanish giants Real Madrid on a long-term deal.

The 23-year-old has agreed to sign a five-year contract with the French champions keeping him at the club until June 2021.

Rodriguez now becomes PSG’s fifth signing after Hatem Ben Arfa, Grzegorz Krychowiak, Thomas Meunier and Giovani Lo Celso.

The Spanish forward insists he is delighted to have signed for one of Europe’s biggest clubs and is relishing the chance to prove his worth at PSG.

‘I am delighted to join Paris Saint-Germain, who have become one of Europe’s most competitive clubs,’ Rodriguez said.

‘I have big ambitions for the coming seasons and it will be a great pleasure to work under the direction of Unai Emery, who has developed an excellent reputation in Spain, and across Europe, for his quality as a coach. I can’t wait to begin this next challenge of my career.’

PSG chairman and CEO Nasser Al-Khelaifi went on to praise the former Real Madrid Castilla forward, insisting that he will add value to the French side attack.

‘I am very happy to welcome Jesé to PSG,’ Al-Khelaifi said.

‘His speed and creative qualities will complement our excellent attacking players. With Jese, our squad is now, more than ever, armed to confront the coming challenges and meet the expectations of our fans.’

During his time in the Spain, Rodriguez won two Champions League , one World Club Cup, a La Liga title and a Copa del Rey.

Rodriguez has scored 40 goals and assists a further 28 from 133 appearances playing for Real Madrid.
