Manchester United midfielder Timothy Fosu-Mensah has signed a new contract at Old Trafford which keeps him at the club until June 2020 with the option to extend for a further year.

The 18-year-old joined the Red Devils in 2014 and has already played for the academy team and U21’s before he was handed his senior debut against Arsenal last season.

Fosu-Mensah says he is delighted to have committed his future to the club and hopes that he can continue to develop as a player at the club.

‘I am delighted to have signed a new contract here at Manchester United. I have enjoyed every minute since I joined this great club and I want to continue the progress that I feel I have made so far,’ Fosu-Mensah told the Manchester United website.

‘I am learning every day from the manager and the coaching staff. I appreciate the trust that the club has in me and I want to repay that with my performances on the pitch.’

The Dutch U21 midfielder has already made 14 appearances for the United first team but is yet to score a goal for the senior team.

Manchester United against Chelsea kicks off at 17:00.
