Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has announced that Philippe Coutinho, Adam Lallana, Daniel Sturridge and Roberto Firmino will miss their EFL Cup clash with Leeds United on Tuesday.

Coutinho is set to undergo a scan on an ankle injury to determine its severity. The Brazilian was injured during his side’s Premier League clash with Sunderland on Saturday.

Lallana’s condition is improving following a groin complaint, but Sturridge and Firmino both still have calf issues, with the former yet to return to training.

‘Obviously, you know about Phil – his scan is this afternoon and we will then know more,’ Klopp told the Liverpool website.

‘Adam is in a very good way, close to team training but that means in the same moment that he is not ready for the game.

‘Daniel is not in team training, so it means then it is the same, and on Roberto, we have to wait.’

Liverpool take on Leeds United in an EFL Cup quarter-final at Anfield on Tuesday.

Kick-off has been set for 21:45.
