Chelsea shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois has revealed he is eager for a return to La Liga in the future but remains committed to the Blues for the time being.

The Blues goalkeeper spent three successive years on loan with Atletico Madrid in La Liga before joining up with the London-based side ahead of the 2014-15 Premier League season.

The Belgian has since openly of his fondness for the Spanish top flight and has admitted he would return to play for Atletico should the opportunity arise in the future.

‘Yes, but not only for the club [Atletico] but how Madrid is and the whole country,’ the goalkeeper said when asked about a possible return, reports Marca.

‘From the first minute, I fell in love with Spain for its people, lifestyle, food… I still maintain eating dinner and then an afternoon nap, most of the television I see is Spanish … I am half Spanish,’ he said.

Courtois was quick to point out he remains committed to Chelsea and has no plans to leave before the expiry of the contract.

‘I have a contract at Chelsea for three seasons,’ Courtois explained. ‘In 2018, when I enter the final year of the contract, we will assess whether to renew or leave.’

Courtois has made 73 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea since he returned to his parent club.
