Liverpool right back Nathaniel Clyne insists that he is pleased with his performance in the Euro 2016 as England drew 0-0 with Slovakia at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.

The Three Lions dominated the final game of their group-stage campaign but were ultimately thwarted by an admirable showing from a backline containing Martin Skrtel, reports the Liverpool website.

The 25-year-old was one of England’s standout players in during his side’s goalless in their final Group B match.

The Liverpool defender believes his side did well in there encounter against Slovakia, but insists that the only thing lacking was the winning goal.

‘I was pleased with my performance,’ Clyne said.

‘The manager made changes and we all came in and did well.

‘We dominated the game from start to finish. It was a bit frustrating that we didn’t get the goal which would have won us the game.’

If England finished top of their group they would have had to take a short trip to Paris, but Clyne insists that his side’s only goal going into the Last 16 is to win the match.

‘I suppose that would have been ideal for us to play more locally but I think it’ll be exactly the same feeling if we play further away,’ he added.

‘We’ve got one job to do and that’s to win the game and that’s it.’

The draw with Slovakia ensured England finished second behind Wales in Group B.
