Manchester City were forced to played out to a 1-1 draw with Borussia Monchengladbach in their Champions League Group C clash at Borussia-Park on Wednesday.

The Bundesliga side opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with a thunderous strike from Raffael, giving the hosts the lead before City playmaker David Silva levelled matters in the dying seconds of the first half.

Both sides were reduced to 10 men in the second half, with Gladbach captain Lars Stindl sent off six minutes after the restart and Fernandinho dismissed 12 minutes later. Both players were shown second yellow cards.
