Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech believes Harry Kane’s penalty in the second half was enough to deny his side all three points in their first North London derby of the season.

The Gunners and Spurs played out to a 1-1 draw at the Emirates Stadium following an own goal by defender Kevin Wimmer and a penalty by Kane.

The 34-year-old says he was disappointed that his side could not walk away with all three points against the Lilywhites and missed out on the chance to move up to second on the Premier League table.

‘We’re disappointed to have only got one point because we were 1-0 up and in a good position at half-time, so it gave us the opportunity to go into the second half and use it to our advantage,’ Cech told the Arsenal website.

The Czech Republic shot-stopper believes Harry Kane’s penalty early in the second half changed the momentum of the game and give Spurs the confidence going forward.

‘The early equaliser in the second half changed the momentum of the game. They played with more confidence in the second half and we lost the rhythm a little bit after they equalised,’ he added.

‘We came back into it but we were too late. We are disappointed to have dropped two points.’

Arsenal will now travel to Old Trafford when they take on Manchester United in the Premier League on November 19.

Kick-off has been set for 14:30.
